If you are planning a fabulous Las Vegas vacation, then you are not alone. Every day, tourists pour into the Las Vegas strip for gambling, entertainment and plenty of shopping. For the adventurous, there is also skydiving lessons for both indoor and outdoor learners.

When planning a Las Vegas vacation, you first matter at hand will be to set a budget. Hotels are expensive, especially if they are located on the Las Vegas strip. Additionally, the best accommodations book up fast, so make your reservations early. Some are fully booked for up to one year in advance, so log on to your favorite hotels website or call and inquire about making a reservation.

Once your travel date and accommodations have been decided, you will want to choose a mode of transportation. If you plan to drive, you will either want to make arrangements for a rental car or have your automobile checked out by a local mechanic to ensure it is safe for the road trip. Many people overlook this step, but it is very important if you plan to drive. If you are planning to arrange for air or rail travel, make your reservations early to ensure that you will have a seat. You can use your cell phone on trains to make sure your transportation is waiting for you upon arrival, including either a rental car or chauffeur. If your train is running late, keeping your chauffeur updated may be the difference in additional fees or the normal rate. Air travel is different, however, as cell phones are not permitted to be used on airplanes. If you know that your flight is delayed, try calling ahead from the airport to confirm transportation before you arrive in Las Vegas.

If lady luck is your calling, a Las Vegas vacation is just the ticket. Casinos are open 247 and feature a variety of games, including both table and slot machines. If you would like to attend a show while on your Las Vegas vacation, order your tickets in advance. You can either pick them up at the ticket office on the day of the show or have them mailed to your home if there is enough time for them to arrive prior to your departure date.

For the daredevil, there are indoor and outdoor skydiving lessons to be enjoyed on your Las Vegas vacation. An indoor lesson includes a brief training session, which is followed by a wind tunnel experience. After gearing up in the proper skydiving suit, goggles, helmet, ear plugs, gloves and shoes, individuals are placed inside of a wind tunnel where they will face computer generated winds of up to 120mph. As the student is lifted 6-12 feet into the air, the winds give them the feeling of an authentic skydiving experience. Indoor skydiving lessons are ideal for anyone on a Las Vegas vacation who wants to try skydiving, but who has a fear of heights.

If you are planning a Las Vegas vacation as part of your wedding andor honeymoon experience, you will be pleasantly greeted by an array of chapels and special rates for newlyweds. Additional information is available by calling the Las Vegas Visitors Center or Chamber of Commerce. Whatever your reason for planning a Las Vegas vacation, this is one city that will not disappoint.

The premier edition of the Las Vegas Michelin Guide (2008) has awarded Five Red Pavilions, the highest rating available, to Wynn Las Vegas Resort and Country Club. Wynn is the only resort in Las Vegas to receive such honors. Two coveted Michelin stars were awarded to ALEX, Alessandro Stratta’s namesake restaurant, and one star to both Richard Chen’s Wing Lei and Daniel Boulud Brasserie.

In North America, only eight hotels have received Michelin’s highest rating of Five Red Pavilions, only eight restaurants have received two stars and 55 restaurants have received one star. Wing Lei is the first and only Michelin rated Chinese restaurant on the continent.
These prestigious honors bring a trifecta to Wynn Las Vegas, the only casino resort in the world to hold the Mobil Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond awards for both hotel and fine dining.

The Michelin Guide features a selection of the best restaurants and hotels in a given city or region, across various comfort and price scales, and is widely considered the “bible of gastronomy for foodies.” Restaurants worthy of a star or multiple stars reflect the characteristics of first-class quality, a mastery of cooking and a superior product.
Named for internationally acclaimed executive chef Alessandro (Alex) Stratta, ALEX offers refined French cuisine in one of the most luxurious and opulent settings at The Tower Suites at Wynn Las Vegas. Chef Stratta creates seasonal menus inspired by the flavors of France.

In the hands of this gifted chef, even the simplest of ingredients are transformed and elevated to the summit of fine dining. ALEX has received additional honors including the AAA Five-Diamond and Mobil Five-Star awards.
Wing Lei takes its place as the “Haute Chinese” restaurant at Wynn Las Vegas. Helmed by rising star chef Richard Chen, Wing Lei offers guests refined Chinese cuisine in a beautifully elegant setting. The menu features traditional Chinese selections as well as new, innovative pairings of Eastern and Western ingredients.

World-renowned chef Daniel Boulud and co-executive chef Wes Holton showcase their mastery of French cuisine at Daniel Boulud Brasserie. The menu features modern brasserie fare that pays homage to Boulud’s roots while playfully reinterpreting many classic dishes. Boulud’s signature touch is highlighted in an elegant and cozy atmosphere with a magnificent view of the Lake of Dreams.

Las Vegas Hilton Luxury at its Finest

The Las Vegas Hilton is one of the more luxurious offerings on the Vegas Strip. This hotel has a lot to offer its guests by way of luxury and amenities including several packages that are amazingly generous by comparison to most other hotels along the strip. If you aren’t seeing a package that is appealing to you be sure to call and see if you might be able to negotiate a more suitable package.

In addition to world class accommodations and a fully functional casino the Las Vegas Hilton also has some of the best shows running along the strip. Current acts include the likes of Barry Manilow and Menopause the Musical. Future acts include big names such as Johnny Mathis and the Asian Fusion concert series.

Perhaps the most famous attraction at the Las Vegas Hilton however is the Star Trek Experience. The experience is completely out of this world and will have you flying through space in a completely immersive experience that even those who weren’t serious fans of the show can appreciate. This is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before or are likely to enjoy again. There is also a museum that is home to many items from the television series as well as the movies. This is a great addition to your vacation experience even at the rather hefty price tag it commands ($34.99 for adults and $31.99 for children as of this writing and subject to change). If you’re going to splurge on one thing during your stay at the Las Vegas Hilton I highly recommend that this be that one thing. There is also the Nemesis Package, which will allow for a reduced rate when purchasing tickets for the Star Trek Experience along with a two-night hotel stay.

Keep in mind if you’re actually coming to Las Vegas for the gambling and not to go Trekking through the galaxy, the casino offers tournaments rather regularly and you should really check to be sure there isn’t a tournament that interests you during your stay or around the times you are considering your stay.

It is fairly safe to say that while there are many fun things to do in Vegas these hotels and casinos would really appreciate your business in the casino seats rather than watching the shows, riding the rides, and playing the games.

The Las Vegas Hilton also has a full service spa and offers some attractive spa packages to its guests. You’d be doing your body a favor to check out the many packages that are available and combining them in order to get the maximum value for your spa dollar along with your spa visit. You might also consider trying to work a spa comp into your package when booking your room. You’ll never know unless you ask.

There is all manner of shopping at the Las Vegas Hilton and you should be able to find nice gifts for others as well as a few nice gifts for yourself. If you don’t find what you’re looking for here you are close enough to other shopping opportunities, if you drag yourself away from the spa that is that it’s no serious problem to go out and find those perfect gifts, trinkets, and tokens of your good time while visiting Las Vegas. Of course, you simply must visit the Barry Manilow store while you’re here and have fun playing with all the nifty toys inside. You also never know when you’ll find that perfect gift for friends and family and this store may be the ideal place to look.

If you’re looking for a completely luxurious experience for you stay in Las Vegas there are few places that will suit you better than the Las Vegas Hilton. The good news is that you can arrange for your luxurious treatment to be had at a fraction of the price it would cost elsewhere if you pay careful attention to the specials that are available and book accordingly.

Las Vegas Vacation Home Rentals: Better Than Renting A Hotel

Las Vegas Vacation Home Rentals: Better Than Renting A Hotel Room?

Las Vegas: America’s Real Favorite Pastime

If you are fortunate enough to be a frequent visitor to Las Vegas, then you know that lodging can get rather expensive. Sure, it’s nothing compared to the bankroll you lost at the blackjack table last night, but that’s all the more reason to save a little money on your accommodations while you’re there. If you don’t mind not walking through a casino every time you head to breakfast in the morning, you may find that Las Vegas vacation home rentals off the strip and outside the main part of Las Vegas are better than a standard hotel.

Rent a Vegas Vacation House Together with Friends

Las Vegas homes feature some of the most unique and decorative architecture in Nevada. The colors and designs that mirror the desert exude luxury. The best part about these homes is that you can rent one with several bedrooms for the same price as a suite at one of the elaborate hotelcasinos on the strip. This is especially good if you are traveling with several people. One way to make a Vegas vacation home rental more affordable is to collaborate with friends or relatives and rent a house together. A 4500 square foot home within walking distance from the Las Vegas strip rents for approximately 600 per night. That seems extreme until you find out that it has six bedrooms and can sleep up to 15 people! That breaks down to 40 per person per night. When was the last time you were able to spend a week anywhere and pay just 280 for your hotel room?

A Private Rental Home for Just 81 per Person per Night

If your vacation budget is a little more relaxed, consider living in the true lap of luxury about ten minutes from the strip. A private rental home completely surrounded in gates and trees sits on a little over half an acre. Six bedrooms, including a master suite, four bathrooms, two laundry rooms, a full kitchen, formal dining room and an outside lounge make this Las Vegas vacation compound perfect for family functions, weddings, work retreats or just a truly luxurious getaway outside Las Vegas. The weekly rate for a home of this caliber is around 8500, or 567 per person per week. This is still an absolute steal when you consider that it is about 81 per person per night.

A Luxurious Vacation Home for Just 130 per person

Perhaps the most luxurious and elaborate vacation home rental is nestled just half a mile away from the Las Vegas Strip in a private, gated neighborhood. It sleeps up to 20 people and can accommodate nearly 200 for parties and events. The property includes two buildings, the main house with six bedrooms and the guest house which includes two.

You can also enjoy the large family room, kitchen, full bar, formal dining area, office, pool table, big screen televisions, and yes, even slot machines. Don’t forget about the gas Barbeque Grill, pool and spa in the lavish back yard. The rates for this extravagant getaway begin at 2600 per night, which translates to about 130 per person. That is about the price of a moderate hotel room in the heart of the strip.

As you can see, Las Vegas vacation home rentals can be extremely expensive or incredibly economical, depending on how you spin it. 2500 per night is a ridiculous amount of money if it’s you and your husband sharing a mansion-like luxury villa, but for a getaway with the whole immediate and extended family, it’s not such a bad deal. Fortunately there are many rental management companies that manage these homes and many others. They can help you find the best Las Vegas vacation home rentals to suite your group size and budget restrictions.

Las Vegas Vacation Fun Stuff, Did You Know?

Fun stuff to amaze your friends on your flight

DID YOU KNOW?

The word casino originally meant a public hall for music and dancing. By the second half of the 19th century, the term essentially meant a collection of gaming or gambling rooms. The classic example of a casino, and one of the worlds best known, is The Casino at Monte Carlo, which opened in 1861.

In Las Vegas The Arizona Club was the first resort to open in Vegas March 31, 1906.

Las Vegas was incorporated into a city in June, 1911.

The first flight into Las Vegas was by two Blythe, California newspaper men on May 10, 1920.

Gambling Sandwich? Who invented what we refer to as a sandwich? So common we dont ever think that an English gambler, The Earl of Sandwich asked for meat between his bread so he wouldnt have to stop gambling merely to eat his lunch!…True!

Gambling: What a phenomenon! Ever wonder where all this gambling stuff got started?

The first accounts of gambling were in 2300 B.C. in China

Gambling was very popular in ancient Greece, even though it was illegal.

Who were the first real Tough Guys to bet on? (Clue; Rome) Yep, Gladiators.

Dice: Who used dice first? Craps? Who thought that one up? The Egyptians. They carved dice from the anklebones of antelope to roll. Hence, Roll them Bones! The Egyptians wagered on a game originally called atep a game of guessing the number of upheld fingers.
( I wonder if this is also the origin of the now so common middle finger salute? Ed.)

Playing Cards are believed to have been invented in China andor India sometime around 900 A.D. The Chinese are thought to have originated card games when they began shuffling paper money (another Chinese invention) into various denominations and combinations.

Baccarat is the principal of card games in the United Kingdom and most of Europe.

Blackjack is a fixture in all American Casinos.

Golf is believed to have started in Scotland (records show 1400 A.D.) but a stained glass window from 1340 A.D. shows a duffer throwing his club in the Loch! I guess the first golfergambler was a sore loser then, like today! {Ed.}

Ever wonder who the heck those Kings are on your deck of cards?

King of Spades King David
King of Hearts Charlemagne
King of Clubs Alexander the Great
King of Diamonds Julius Caesar

In doing my research to satisfy my curiosity I thought there might be others wondering about some of these hard to find answers. And at the same time enjoy a chuckle at this form of Las Vegas Entertainment.

Las Vegas The Luxury City

Though a bit heavy on the neon, Las Vegas is a true feast for the eyes. The skyline is amazing, with all of the sparkling lights and massive shapes competing for attention. Every hotel is striving to top the next one with its own unique theme, majestic entrances, rollicking casinos, delectable restaurants, and impressive entertainment. It can be said that Las Vegas does not have a boring bone in its body.

The marketing angle of the Las Vegas tourism board has gone from its old nickname, Sin City, to being touted as a family-friendly destination in the 1990s and back to Adults Only with its new tagline, What happens here, stays here. City advertisers want to attract people from all over the world to their own adult playground, complete with endless gambling, alcohol, food, and entertainment. It is billed as a kind of magical place that will cater to every need and fulfill every fantasy.

The hotels in Las Vegas are truly incredible to behold. They pay homage to other unique cities, like New York, Venice, and Paris, by recreating smaller versions of these cities. New York, New York hotel reconstructs the lively streets of Gotham. The Venetian hotel has a huge indoor canal complete with gondolas and gondoliers. The Paris hotel experience comes complete with a replica of the Eiffel Tower. There are tributes to other themes as well, including ancient Rome (Caesars Palace), Hollywood (MGM Grand), pirates ( Treasure Island), Arabian nights (Aladdin) and many more. Two of the nicest hotels with casinos in Las Vegas, the Bellagio and the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel, dont have specific themes besides that of opulence and luxury.

From the Rat Pack of the mid-20 th century to Celine Dion today, Vegas entertainment has always been a huge draw. Magicians, such as Penn and Teller, and Siegfried and Roy, entertain crowds with their amazing optical illusions. Comedians like Danny Gans and Carrot Top perform often in Las Vegas and are quite popular with their use of extravagant props and sight gags. Veteran Vegas entertainers, like Tony Orlando and Wayne Newton, still command packed houses night after night with their well-loved repertoire of musical favorites.

Shopping and eating are two more favorite past times in Las Vegas. Caesars Palace offers a world-class mall featuring a painted blue sky with clouds adorning the ceiling. The Venetian also has first class shopping with many designer brands. Most of the other hotels showcase several great shops inside their lobbies and host many more on their premises. When hunger strikes, there is no shortage of fabulous food. Las Vegas is no longer a place of $3.99 all-you-can-eat-buffets. World-renowned chefs Wolfgang Puck (Spago) and Emeril Lagasse have several excellent eateries in town and many of the prominent hotels boast other award-winning restaurants.

Of course, the most popular reason for visiting Las Vegas is for the gambling casinos. From the nickel slot machines to the rooms of tables reserved for those starting bets over $1000, there is a venue for every budget. Games such as craps, blackjack, and baccarat draw millions of people a year to try their hand at the tables, accompanied by attractive cocktail waitresses handing out free drinks aplenty. There are some success stories, but many more sob stories, when people arrive home from their jaunts to Las Vegas after playing against the casinos. Amateur gamblers who visit Las Vegas report that it is best to decide how much money to play with before starting, and stick with that limit. After all, Las Vegas is a fun destination for vacationing and conventions, and it has a lot to offer visitors when they practice some moderation in the gambling arena.

Las Vegas New Slogan: “Laugh Out Loud” Vegas

Nov 08 2010

No one can forget “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas” It’s a phrase that has been used so many times it’s burned into our memories. It’s a home run in marketing as far as tourism slogans goes, and on par with the likes of the old classic Wendy’s hamburger slogan “Where’s the beef”.

Las Vegas always wants to be seen as the place you can let yourself go and leave your troubles behind. That’s where the marketing slogan “Laugh Out Loud Vegas” comes into play, forget all of your inhibitions and have the freedom to just laugh out loud without a care in the world.

Demographics also comes into play with “Laugh out loud Vegas” most computer savvy young and middle age people use this phrase extensively every day on the internet, in an abbreviation such as “LOL” meaning laugh out loud which also makes this slogan very memorable to those age groups. Not to young though, legal gambling and drinking age in Las Vegas, Nevada is 21.

And for the generations who could care less about internet lingo the Las Vegas campaign slogan “Laugh out Loud Vegas” will simply mean just that, have a great time, catch some shows, play some games, and laugh out loud with a loved one! Tourism officials for the city of Las Vegas will not replace their current favorite slogan, just compliment it with an even broader audience.

Another slogan Las Vegas tourism officials are trying out and having tested by focus groups is “Your Vegas is Showing” my what is showing?? Well I don’t get that one? But since were talking about Vegas we can make a small wager, my bets on “Laugh Out Loud Vegas” it just makes sense to me.

Las Vegas is just a great place to let loose, relax, and get lost in something out of the routine. Try laughing out loud in any other city and see the looks you get? In Vegas it’s the norm. Don’t hold it in, just laugh out loud! And always remember the other classic slogan “What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas “Laugh Out Loud Vegas”

Las Vegas Hotels And Casinos: All In One!

It is no secret that more and more often, travelers are opting for resort-like vacations. Falling in this category of vacations are cruises in which all are included and resorts in the Caribbean such as Sandals where everything is included. More and more often, Las Vegas hotels are falling into this new category of vacation. In the gambling capital of the world, there are many establishments that have always featured accommodations and casino entertainment under one roof. Frequently, the casino occupies the ground floor of the building and the upper stories are reserved for guest rooms. This format has been around for a while, but it recently has become more and more desirable for tourists.

A lot of tourists are looking for the total price tag for their vacation. Everyone knows that all the daily expenses while on vacation almost always end up adding up to more than you had calculated during your planning stages. Las Vegas hotels are not the cheapest in the U.S., and if you add the amount of money one frequently spends on gambling while there and the cost of food each day, you have already got yourself quite a pricey vacation.

The allure of the all-inclusive vacation is that you know exactly what the total cost will be before beginning the actual vacation. The total price of an all-inclusive vacation seems staggering at first. But if you compare with a vacation taken la carte, when you add up all of the individual costs, it is usually the case that travelers end up spending more when they take these vacations instead of choosing an all-inclusive resort.

The allure of this newer type of vacation has not escaped the best Las Vegas hotels, and a lot of casino resorts are now offering vacation packages that include lodging costs, the costs of meals that are eaten within the resort complex, and, in some cases, gambling activities. Of course, travelers wishing to spend more than the pre-determined amount on gambling can simply use money from their own pockets to continue gambling once the set amount from their vacation package has run out.

Especially for travelers traveling with their spouses or with their families, the all-inclusive vacation is a great way to make sure that all the costs are covered, and, perhaps even more important, a great way to avoid fighting about money during the vacation. Many travelers do not consider the possibility of arguments while on vacation when they are planning their trip, but many families tend to disagree when it comes to how to spend their hard-earned pounds.

While Las Vegas hotels can take a fair portion of your familys vacation budget, you can find affordable ones that provide the amenities you want, or splurge on those that provide your meals and entertainment during your stay. Visit the website of Essen Travel at http:www.essentravel.com today for all of your travel needs. On its website, you can plan everything from accommodations to airfare and car rentals, making the planning phase of your vacation almost as enjoyable as the vacation itself.
